The K Train stops at many places, not always in the same order and rarely at all the stops in one trip, these stops include: rugby, NYRC, PWRFC, MARFU, EPRU, Women's National Team, K Train the player, K Train the coach, K Train the student, K-Train the girl, and K-Train the overwhelmed 20 something. Management has the right to add stops as needed, fare evaders will be evicted from the vehicle, probably somewhere in North Philly or the South Bronx.

New Year's Resolution

It's been over a year since I last posted but fear not, in the spirit of New Year's resolutions I will be blogging in 2011. The coach/teacher in me says that my resolution should include measureable goals. So here are the terms of my New Year's resolution:

-4 blogs every week
-2 blogs a week must be non rugby
-20 blogs every month
-2 semi creative blogs a month

All New Year's Resolutions have a story.

My particular resolution stems from a real need to write. It's very easy when you are working and dealing lots of rugby related email to view writing as a burden. You write because you have to, the writing is a simple instrument and not something you feeled connected. Writing has become a hurried affair, forget envelopes; email, IMs and text messages beg us to abbreviate. They force us to be faster, to make more connections but not necessarily to be more connected.

Writing slowly is more than an indulgance. It's very nature, the consideration of words, sentences and paragraphs as an ends to themselves, flies in the face of the writing we on a daily basis. Maybe we're not really writing at all but simply typing, the sum of a clattering chorus of keyboards and touchscreens. Writing slowly is manifestly about more than typing, more than simply communicating, it's about conveying meaning beyond the sum of the collected words.
